On May 31, Oktay Sekercisoy, senior director for Global Partnerships and adjunct professor of International Business at Binghamton University School of Management, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU). The meeting was attended by the heads of various departments, including the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the Graduate School, the School of Interpreting and Translation (SIT), and the Business School.
Cai Jian, secretary of the CPC SIT Committee, expressed the hope for long-term cooperation between BISU and Binghamton University in the training of multi-language talents specializing in Chinese-English-French, Chinese-English-Spanish, Chinese-English-Arabic, and Chinese-English-Russian interpreting and translation.
Li Wei, dean of the Business School, expressed his interest in partnering with Binghamton University to establish multi-level dual degree programs in finance, accounting, and business administration.
Chen Weigong from the Graduate School suggested continuing the joint doctoral training programs between the two universities.
The meeting
Sekercisoy warmly responded to the cooperation intentions expressed by all the schools and departments at BISU. He expressed his willingness to advance the relevant cooperation projects and reach an agreement at an early stage.
Yu Gang, director of the BISU International Exchange and Cooperation Office, assured full support and follow-up on the multiple cooperation initiatives between the two universities. He expressed the hope that the relevant project agreements could be concluded by the end of this year.
