On May 29, Nelly Fanny Moreira Vergara, president of UE Si Miao Wei Hua del Ecuador, led a delegation on a visit to Beijing International Studies University (BISU) and successfully organized a performance with the young artists from BISU's art group. The event was attended by Zheng Chengjun, vice-president of BISU, and He Jing, assistant to the BISU president.

The delegation from UE Si Miao Wei Hua del Ecuador traveled a long way to engage in a cultural and art exchange with BISU students, presenting a performance that showcased the rich cultural characteristics of both countries and conveyed the deep friendship between the youth of China and Ecuador.

The event commenced with an exhilarating percussion performance titled A Leap of Power and Strength. The first Ecuadorian performer, Astudillo Reyes Ariana, dressed in a Chinese cheongsam, delivered a soul-stirring rendition of the song Cuando Llora Mi Guitarra, captivating the audience with her passionate and vibrant voice. The BISU choir enchanted the crowd with a popular Chinese folk song, Jasmine Flower, which had everyone humming along to the melody.

Both the Chinese and Ecuadorian performers presented a series of captivating programs, alternating their performances. The Ecuadorian team sang My Motherland and The Great Wall Ballad in Chinese, followed by a refreshing Xinjiang dance titled Bloom. The members of the BISU art group also shone on stage, showcasing a fusion of traditional and contemporary dance styles, as well as a splendid performance of the Peking Opera piece Flowing Clouds, Running Water, perfectly demonstrating the essence of Chinese national art to both Chinese and foreign audiences.

In addition to the song and dance performances, three interactive sessions infused with Chinese cultural elements added to the fun. Following the Chinese drumming, Chinese dance, and Peking Opera performances, the Chinese performers invited the young Ecuadorians to join them on stage and experience the art forms with distinct Chinese characteristics. Through this artistic exchange, the two sides deepened their friendship and became closer to each other. The event concluded with all participants coming together on stage to sing The Same Song, creating a perfect ending to the art exchange.

He highlighted the school's role as a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Ecuador due to its distinct emphasis on Chinese culture. BISU expressed eagerness to engage in further discussions with UE Si Miao Wei Hua del Ecuador to explore future collaborations.

Vergara expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm and gracious reception provided by BISU. She provided an overview of the development of UE Si Miao Wei Hua del Ecuador, emphasizing that it is the first and only school in Latin America with a profound focus on Chinese culture.

The school's affiliated secondary section offers primary and secondary education to Ecuadorian students, and this year marks the graduation of their first high school class. The purpose of this visit was to promote cultural exchanges between China and Ecuador and explore opportunities for international cooperation, particularly for graduates seeking higher education in China. Vergara reiterated her commitment to actively pursue substantive discussions and expedite the implementation of cooperative initiatives between the two sides.
