Beijing International Studies University (BISU) participated in the "Generation Z 2023: The Future of the Silk Road", an event aimed at fostering cultural exchange among young people from China and abroad, and meant to explore the story of the Silk Road, on April 6 at the National Museum of China.

Konami Mayentao, a Malian student studying at BISU, delivered a speech on behalf of the Generation Z members. He and other representatives will embark on trips to Luoyang in Henan province, Weinan in Shaanxi province, and Dunhuang in Gansu province, where they will immerse themselves in Chinese culture and explore historical sites along the ancient Silk Road.

As a postgraduate student at BISU and a volunteer for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Mayentao will have the opportunity to experience Chinese culture through tasting various delicacies during his trips.

"The delicacy and elegance of Chinese cuisine are a reflection of the profound cultural heritage it embodies. Through this event, students from all around the world can gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and attain emotional resonance despite their diverse backgrounds," said Mayentao.
