China leisure city development report 2022
The 4th China (Beijing) Leisure Conference and Post-epidemic Capital Rural Tourism Development Summit Forum were held on Dec 10. The events were hosted by the China Tourism Association, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Pinggu District People's Government and the Beijing International Studies University (BISU).
The conference was held online with the theme of “Leisure life fuels rural revitalization”, gathering leaders, experts and scholars to analyze the current cultural and tourism industry. The conference released a series of studies on the development of the leisure sector, analyzed trends and prospects of rural leisure tourism in the post-epidemic era. There was also discussion on providing academic support and communication for pushing forward Beijing’s cultural tourism revitalization.

Liu Bin, deputy head of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said in his speech that to build Beijing into a world-class livable city, it should vigorously develop its leisure industry. It should enrich leisure tourism products and improve the city’s infrastructure for leisure tourism. He said he hopes that the China (Beijing) Leisure Conference can convey the idea of providing a new energy for leisure tourism in the post-epidemic era.
Di Tao, head of Pinggu district, introduced Pinggu’s leisure resources and the industry’s development in the district and encouraged people to offer novel ideas and suggestions for the development of the industry.
Cheng Wei, vice-president of the BISU, said in his speech that BISU is an important base for cultivating talents specializing in foreign languages, translation, tourism and economy and trade. Tourism management is a key construction discipline of Beijing, which has cultivated a large number of talents in culture and tourism.
After the opening ceremony, achievements in tourism and the leisure sector including the “China leisure city development report 2022” and the “Beijing leisure development report 2022” were released. Zhang Zi’ang, deputy head of Pinggu bureau of culture and tourism resources, introduced the district’s tourism resources and winter tourism routes.

Meanwhile, the post-epidemic Capital Rural Tourism Development Summit Forum was also held. Wang Xiaofeng, chairman of the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, delivered a speech with the theme of intangible cultural heritage protection. Zou Tongqian, presidential assistant of the BISU, gave a speech on global development trends in the health and leisure sectors.
