Confucius Institute at Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal)

In December 2015, Beijing International Studies University (BISU) signed an execution agreement on the Confucius Institute with Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal) and  Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. The Confucius Institute at Universidade de Coimbra was officially launched on July 4, 2016.

So far, the Confucius Institute has trained 1,050 students and currently has 160 students. The Confucius Institute has two Chinese teachers, one Chinese president, one foreign president and one full-time secretary. It has a dedicated area of 274 square meters. It has four teaching sites, in which it organizes cultural activities, such as the Chinese and Portuguese folk music activity, the Silk and Road cultural forum, the East and West food and cultural exchange event, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) academic forum and exchange meeting.

Featured with TCM, the Confucius Institute at Universidade de Coimbra fully uses the resources of its partner universities, gradually opening courses of Chinese culture and traditional Chinese medicine to promote TCM culture among more overseas people.
