Confucius Institute at Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (Mexico)

Beijing International Studies University (BISU) signed a university-level cooperative deal and enforcement agreement with Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (Mexico) in July 2007 on the building of a Confucius Institute.

The Confucius Institute was unveiled in Oct 2017 and became operational in March 2018.

With a total floor area of 1,000 square meters, the Confucius Institute comprises eight classrooms, a library, a display hall of traditional Chinese culture, a multi-media report hall, a meeting room, two administrative offices, one kitchen for teaching purpose and two storage rooms.

So far, the Confucius Institute has trained about 11,000 Mexican students. It enrolled 850 Mexican students in 2021. Its teaching personnel consists of one full-time Chinese teacher, 28 Mexican teachers, and 16 Chinese teachers who conduct classes via video link.

The Confucius Institute won the honor of the best global HSK test site in 2020 and 2021.

Right now, the Confucius Institute has five leading subordinate teaching sites, which are the Center of Chinese Culture in Torreón, Technological Institute of Sonora in Ciudad Obregon, the Juárez branch of Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, Chihuahua URN Education Group, and Chihuahua CECYTECH Education Group.
