Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence and Linguistic Cognition

The Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence and Linguistic Cognition of Beijing International Studies University (the Laboratory) was officially established in 2018, on the basis of the Laboratory for Linguistic Cognition, which was founded in 2008. 

The laboratory focuses on research in linguistic cognition, tourism behavior and psychology, natural linguistic processing, and machine translation, based on neuroscience, linguistics, psychology, in-depth learning theories, virtual reality technology, and foreign language teaching theories. It upholds the principle of openness and mobility and is committed to new Liberal Arts studies under the interdisciplinary vision. As an interdisciplinary research platform of the university, the Laboratory is dedicated to the scientific research, disciplinary construction and academic cultivation of graduate and undergraduate students at the university.

The laboratory is now equipped with general physiological and psychological facilities, one eye tracker (Eye-Link1000), one neuro-scanning machine (Brain Product) and one near infrared machine (Gowerlabs), which meets the empirical research demands of all teachers and students at the university.

At present, the laboratory has 30 full-time and part-time researchers, including 5 professors and 29 doctors.
