The business school at Beijing International Studies University (BISU) was established in line with a vision to promote the internalization of municipal-level universities in July 2013. It currently offers two bachelor's programs (marketing and financial management), two master's programs (corporate management and accounting) with academic orientation, and another two skilled master's programs (MPAcc and MBA). Corporate management has been listed as one of municipal-level key construction specialties. With strong and innovative faculty, the school now has over 500 undergraduate and graduate students.
The business school firmly adheres to its founding principles, which are to foster virtues, study hard, and seek truth as well as excellence, underscores the development of internationalization and the cultivation of pragmatic business skills, and fulfills its mission in making insightful proposals for business management, imparting knowledge for business operation, creating new services and management knowledge, and nurturing high-level managerial personnel with global vision in the services industry. It has intensified the efforts to further optimize the structure and quality of its faculty, advance the cultivation of operating and managerial personnel with global insight, build an international-level business school known for strong linguistic expertise, empower students with global vision, competent knowledge and skills, and strong expertise in self-development, and become a cradle as well as training base of services-oriented managerial personnel for multinational corporation.
Teachers in the business school have solid theoretical knowledge of modern economics and management science and boast broad global vision and sufficient pragmatic experience. There are 25 full-time teachers, which comprise seven professors, eight associate professors and 10 lecturers, in the school. All people of them have obtained doctoral degrees and had the experience of studying abroad.
The business school has won the approval of nine national-level research programs and 32 provincial-level research projects, published over 100 research papers, invited famous economists, officials from central departments, CEOs and executives of leading Chinese and foreign enterprises to act as part-time professors and advisors, and maintained cooperative relations with a large number of renowned firms at home and from abroad like General Electric Company, Morgan Stanley, Boeing and Baidu.
The business school has built permanent partnership with many universities in the US, Britain, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland and the Republic of Korea in the midst of the endeavor to proactively promote China's integration with global economy. It has supported both undergraduate and graduate students to take part in overseas exchange programs and continue with their education abroad in a move to help them learn more about foreign countries and facilitate the sharing of Chinese experience.
The business school has further deepened its cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Commerce, the China Scholarship Council and foreign embassies on enlarging the scale of Chinese students studying abroad and promoting the training of high-level talents. In addition, it has also expanded the "3+2" collaborative educational programs in the integrated cultivation of undergraduate and graduate students in the partnership with American universities, and implemented a special training program in the cultivation of international managerial personnel.
Right now, the business school has offered all types of operating and management courses and sought the sharing of educational resources with foreign business colleges. A majority of its courses are taught with international textbooks in a drive to help students keep up with international development trend.
Furthermore, the business school is working on the building of domestically advanced accounting and commercial laboratories and the installation of multiple teaching software in the sectors of financing, statistics and econometrics, international trade, ERP, e-commerce, financial accounting, auditing and taxation so as to help its students grasp sufficient capabilities in using computer.
