1. The Foreign Student Dormitory
There are 3 student dormitories on campus to accommodate foreign students: Building No. 2, the second and third floor of Building No. 7 and Building Qinxue.
Building No. 2
Accommodation fees can be paid in termly installments. A deposit of RMB 500 Yuan is required upon moving in. Changing rooms and/or moving out amid one semester are not permitted except that such request is made at the end of one semester and students will change rooms in the following semester. In such a case, the next semester’s accommodation fee must be paid in advance. This advance payment, however, is, in principle, not refundable.
Residents should abide by the Dormitory Accommodation Regulations. Please refer any questions, requests, and complaints to the Reception Desk on the first floor. The Reception Desk also takes care of matters such as visitors’ registration, the lodging deposit, room repair/maintenance requests, room-key keeping and room-key loss report. Useful Tips from ISO
1. Many students may change their address and contact information during their study years at BISU. If this happens, please make sure that you keep ISO posted with your new address, telephone number and e-mail address, for ISO often sends important notices and other information to foreign students, especially in unusual and emergency situations, and also students’ difficulties, if any, can be reported to ISO promptly. It is naturally of vital importance that ISO has the students’ accurate contact information. ISO assures that students’ contact information will be kept confidential.
2. Students living off campus are kindly warned that you must make sure that the housing information is reliable, the landlord has the Leasing Permit recorded in the local police station, and the leasing procedure is complete and legal. It is also advisable that the tenants inform and consult the local residential committee to make sure the whole leasing procedure is complete, legal and reliable.
If you live off campus, please make sure you pay the rent duly, to avoid unnecessary trouble or legal disputes.
