Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Czech language students at BISU's Seven-year Comprehensive Training Program have been actively contributing to the pandemic prevention and control efforts in the Czech Republic.

Currently residing in Prague, the students -- including Duan Jinyan, Chang Xiyue, Gao Liyun, Xu Haotian, and Cao Zhen -- joined a local translation group in February and March, with their teacher, Jiang Weixi, the group leader, and nine other Chinese students studying in the Czech Republic.

The students collected and translated news about the epidemic from the Czech government, which they then shared with overseas Chinese in the Czech Republic. The group's aim was to help Chinese students and other overseas Chinese receive timely information about the epidemic prevention measures being implemented by the Czech government. So far, the group has published 126 translations, and Cao also created a Czech-language video clip at the beginning of the epidemic to remind Czech citizens about the importance of wearing masks. It has received over 10,000 video hits on YouTube.

In addition to helping others, the five students have also improved their language skills. When encountering language problems, they looked up words in the dictionary to ensure accurate translations. The Chinese living in the Czech Republic have expressed their gratitude to the students for their contributions and perseverance, and the students are proud to be able to help their fellow Chinese and show their support for their motherland.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a global disaster, and China has set an example for the world in fighting it. At the critical moment, China provided medical and technical guidance, as well as medical supplies, to the Czech Republic. The Czech government publicly expressed its gratitude to China. The overseas students have played a small but important role in strengthening the friendship between the two countries. Despite the difficulties, the students continue to forge ahead, broaden their horizons, and express their deep love for their motherland and their school. Their dedication and energy are a testament to their can-do spirit.
