Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, the Chinese people have united to combat the virus. This fight has not only touched the hearts of the Chinese people but has also attracted the deep concern of the international community. BISU has received letters of encouragement from two of our international partners, Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá and Université d’Orléans.
On Feb 12th, the Confucius Institute at the University of Panama donated 12,000 medical masks to Beijing and the frontline of the epidemic-infected areas. Eduardo Flores Castro, in his letter to us on Feb 11th, expressed his deep sympathy and support for China in fighting the Novel Coronavirus epidemic. Meanwhile, Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá has provided relevant information to the local society to raise awareness about the COVID-19 and enhance prevention methods. The Panamanian people share the same feelings with the Chinese people and strongly believe that the Chinese people will finally win this battle against the coronavirus.
In response to these kind gestures, BISU President Ji Jinbiao expressed his sincerest gratitude to the University of Panama for their care and support during the difficult time. He conveyed the determination of all the Chinese people, including the faculty and students at BISU, to unite as one to bravely combat this crisis. Strict and thorough prevention measures have already been taken, which are gradually showing positive effects. So far, the number of patients released from the hospital is increasing constantly, and the number of suspected patients is decreasing slowly, but the people are confident that they are capable and most assured to overcome this crisis in the end.
Recently, President of Université d’Orléans Ary Bruand visited the Châteauroux School of BISU and had a nice discussion with the students about the current situation in China. Meanwhile, Louis Guy, deputy headmaster of Université d’Orléans, sent his best wishes to BISU President Ji and all the students of BISU. He said he hopes that the COVID-19 would end as soon as possible and looked forward to their next meeting.
Ji responded that he appreciates the wishes from Université d’Orléans and that there have been no cases of infection found amongst the faculty and students. He said everyone is doing what they can to fight the virus, and he looks forward to their next meeting as well.
