Vice-President of Vilnius University in Lithuania Visits BISU

On December 12, Valdas Jaskūnas, vice-president of Vilnius University in Lithuania, visited BISU. Zhu Peifen, vice-president of BISU, welcomed the visitor and expressed gratitude for their support in Lithuanian language teaching and talent training at BISU. 

Zhu mentioned the two universities' joint training program, which has significantly improved the language proficiency of BISU's Lithuanian majors. She expressed hope for further collaboration in the areas of teacher-student exchanges, textbook research and development, and cooperative scientific research. Zhu welcomed teachers and scholars from Vilnius University to teach and conduct exchanges, and for more students to learn Chinese at BISU.

Jaskūnas was delighted to see closer cooperation between the two institutions. He stated that Vilnius University, with its emphasis on internationalization, was very open to cooperate with BISU and committed to promoting exchanges between students from different countries. He said he believes that the partnership between the two universities would help elevate Lithuanian talent training to a new level. Furthermore, he expressed his willingness to send more exceptional teachers to teach in BISU and looked forward to extensive and in-depth cooperation in multiple fields.

After the meeting, the foreign guests visited the Lithuanian students met with the leaders of the School of European Languages, Literature and Culture, Lithuanian teachers, and students.

Jaskūnas asked the students about their learning experience of the Lithuanian language and of living in Lithuania and China. He encouraged students to put more effort into learning Lithuanian, and to gain a better understanding of Lithuanian history and culture.

The students performed the Lithuanian song "Tu Nemoki", and danced a traditional Lithuanian dance with the guests. 

Jaskūnas gave the students Lithuanian chocolate. The students said that they would work hard to gain professional knowledge and improve themselves to contribute to friendly exchanges and bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the future. The visit helped further consolidate the cooperative relationship between the two universities.
