Beijing International Studies University (BISU) is a nationwide renowned key comprehensive university of higher education. The history of employing and inviting foreign experts and short term international visiting professors can be dated back as early as the founding of BISU in 1964. This trend has been enhanced especially after the reform and opening-up policy of China in 1978. Now BISU has cultivated and gathered in the school an impressive number of high-level scholars and teachers. There are about 60 foreign experts and short term international visiting professors on the school faculty each year. They are playing an important role in teaching and research activities of BISU, as well as bringing more cultural diversity onto campus and making BISU more international.
