3 BISU teachers win honors at Beijing teaching innovation contest | |||

Organized by the department of higher education of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the 2nd Beijing teaching innovation contest for college teachers released its results recently. Three teachers from Beijing International Studies University (BISU) won honors for their school. Professor Li Sujie gives a lesson at the contest Professor Luo Libin gives a lesson at the contest Associate Professor Song Fei gives a lesson at the contest Professor Li Sujie from the School of English Language, Literature and Culture, and Associate Professor Song Fei from the School of International Education of Chinese Language, won third prizes in the senior title team and the deputy senior title team, respectively. Professor Luo Libin from the School of Economics got the excellence prize in the senior title team. The teaching innovation contest was a regional competition of the 2nd National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers. It aims to encourage professors to promote teaching innovation and create first-class courses. According to the requirements of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, municipal competitions included online and on-site assessment. There were 266 teachers and groups that participated in the contest, among which 78 teachers and groups won the tickets for on-site assessment. The office of academic affairs of BISU started the selection for the contest in December 2021. Based on the on-site teaching presentation, the teaching innovation report and the achievements report of teaching innovation of courses, it selected five teacher teams on behalf of BISU to participate in the online assessment. During the preparation period for the contest, the office of academic affairs not only organized teachers to practice teaching skills but also invited famous experts to give instructions to those teachers. At the on-site assessment stage, BISU teachers integrated teaching programs with practice to systematically interpret the design ideas of courses. They highlighted the teaching reform and innovation and showed the teaching styles of BISU’s teachers. In the future, BISU will further encourage teachers to expand their ideas and provide them with the platform for interaction, resource sharing and achievement exhibition. |
