On February 20, 2022, the Roundtable Forum on A Sober Reflection on National Cultural Park Construction Craze: Current Situation, Problems and How We Should Respond was held online through Tencent Meeting. The forum was hosted by Beijing Guanheng Academy of Cultural Development and Exploration and Free Views and organized by the Research Group of Exploring the Preservation, Inheritance and Promotion of Yellow River Culture under the Perspective of Culture and Tourism Integration, a National Social Science Foundation's art major project. Professor Qi Shuyu of Party School of the Central Committee of C.P.C (National Academy of Governance), Director of the Beijing Guanheng Academy of Cultural Development, served as the moderator and delivered the keynote speech. Professor Xi Jianchao, Research of the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Fu Caiwu, Director of National Institute of Cultural Development in Wuhan University, Professor Gong Liang, Director of the Nanjing Museum, and Professor Wu Chengzhong of the School of Government of the University of International Business and Economics attended the forum and delivered enlightening keynote speeches. Professor Zou Tongqian, Director of China Academy of Culture & Tourism, attended the Roundtable Forum and delivered the speech entitled Holistic Conservation and Integrated Development of National Cultural Parks. Prof. Zou gives an overview of the current national cultural park planning in China from two aspects: the definition of national cultural park and the content of national cultural park construction. He sorts through the evolution of the concept of cultural heritage protection in international documents and the changes in Chinese cultural heritage management thinking, from which he summarizes the key principles of lineal or serial cultural heritage management and outlines the Bologna Experience and the Paris Experience and proposes recommendations for the holistic conservation and integrated development of China's national cultural parks. |
